Guide to Using Web Viewer in MyDoorView
The Web Viewer feature allows video calls from the panel to your computer without requiring a desk phone. The only requirements are a speaker and a microphone. This guide walks you through the setup and functionality of Web Viewer.
1. Activating Web Viewer
To enable Web Viewer for the first time:
- Click on the "Web Viewer" button on the homepage of the MyDoorView portal.
- The first time you launch it, approve the necessary permissions on your PC or Mac.
- The Web Viewer will open in a new browser tab.
- Pull the tab out and minimize it—it will automatically activate when a call comes in.
2. Receiving Calls with Web Viewer
When an incoming call is received:
- A notification box will appear in the lower right corner of your screen.
- A chime will sound to alert you.
- Click the notification box to answer the call.
3. Configuring Office Group Calls
Web Viewer works alongside the Office Button on the panel or via QR code.
To ensure calls reach the correct users:
- Navigate to:
- Users > Groups > Office Group in the portal.
- Enable the panels for call functionality.
- Calls will now be routed to all users logged in with Web Viewer open.
4. Adding User Phones to the Office Group
To add a user's phone:
- Click the drop-down menu or search for the user’s name.
- Ensure the user has installed the MyDoorView app on their device.
- Once added, any calls made via the Office Button will ring on both:
- The user’s computer (Web Viewer)
- The user’s mobile device
- The first device to answer the call will handle it, while others will stop ringing.
5. Using Rollover Calling
Rollover Calling is an alternative to Broadcast Calling. To enable it:
- Click Rollover Calling and select Yes.
- Calls will first attempt to reach all open Web Viewer browsers.
- If no browsers are open, calls will ring individual devices one by one, following the call priority order.
6. Routing Calls to Desk Phones
If you prefer to direct calls to a desk phone, follow these steps:
- Disable Web Viewer for the panel location:
- Click the Disable button.
- Enter the desired phone number:
- Go to Home > Manage Location > Select Location Name.
- Click the Panel Settings tab.
- Enter the office number in the box labeled "Displayed Phone Number".
