Guide to Using the MyDoorView Phone App

The MyDoorView App is an intuitive and feature-rich platform designed to enhance access control and communication for residents. This guide will walk you through the essential functions of the app.


1. Logging Into the App

To log in, you will need:
Phone number
Email address

📌 Important:

  • You must be registered by your property manager before logging in.
  • The app is available for both Android and iOS devices, including phones and tablets.

If you choose not to use the app, you can still receive calls from the entry point and grant access by pressing *9 on your phone keypad.
📢 Tip: When entering *9, leave a one-second pause between key presses to ensure proper functionality.


2. Navigating the App

🏠 Locations Tab

  • This is the main screen of the app.
  • The number of locations shown depends on how many entry points you are associated with.
  • If a swipe arrow appears to the right of a location, you can swipe right to unlock the door or gate remotely—this works from anywhere with an internet connection.



3. Receiving & Managing Calls

📞 Video Calls & Unlocking Doors

  • During a video call, a green unlock button will appear on your screen—tap it to grant access.
  • There’s no need to switch screens to open the door.

📜 Call History & Guest Cam

  • In the top left corner, you can view your call log history.
  • Tap "Guest Cam" (bottom right) to:
    • View images of recent visitors.
    • Share or save pictures of guests who called you.

4. Managing Call Groups

The Call Group feature allows multiple devices to ring simultaneously when a call is received from the entry panel.

🔹 Creating a Call Group

  1. Tap the "+" icon" in the top left corner.
  2. Enter a group name and tap Submit, then click Yes.
  3. Click the "+" sign and enter the cell phone number of the person you want to add.
  4. The person will receive a text message invitation.

📌 Notes:

  • Group invitees can decline to join.
  • Group members can leave the group at any time.



5. Sending Guest PINs

To allow temporary access for guests:

  1. Tap the "Guest" tab and select "Guest PIN".
  2. Choose between:
    • Pulling guest information from your contacts, OR
    • Manually entering guest details.
  3. Select the entry point by tapping the location name.
  4. Set:
    • PIN use type
    • Expiration date
  5. Tap "Create Guest PIN".

📢 Confirmation:

  • You will receive a text confirming the PIN creation.
  • Your guest will receive a text with the PIN code.

📌 Note: If your guest needs access to multiple entry points, you must repeat the process for each entry.

To revoke guest access, return to the Guest tab and remove the PIN.


6. Profile Settings & Preferences

In the Profile Tab, you can manage:

  • Dial-by-directory code
  • Resident PIN
  • Floor number
  • Do Not Disturb mode
  • Hide/Unhide from Directory

📌 For properties with LPR: You can register your vehicle in this section.
