Managing Users

Guide to Managing Users in MyDoorView

This guide provides step-by-step instructions on how to manage users within MyDoorView, including editing user details, managing access, and handling credentials.

1. Important Note on Access Control Integration

While you can fully manage user data within MyDoorView, if your system is integrated with an access control system, it is recommended that you manage user access within that system first.

2. Accessing the Manage User Page

  1. Navigate to the Homepage
  2. Click on "Manage User"
  3. Use the search bar or click a column heading to sort user data.

๐Ÿ“Œ Note: If a user does not have a virtual phone number, it means they have not installed the MyDoorView app on their phone.

3. Editing or Deleting a User

Once you locate the user, you have two options:

Option 1: Delete the User

  • Click the trash can icon to delete the user.
  • A warning prompt will appear to prevent accidental deletions.
  • Once deleted, all associated data (e.g., PINs and guest PINs) will be permanently removed.

Option 2: Edit the User Record

  • Click the pencil icon or the userโ€™s name to access their record.

4. Editing User Information

Inside the user record, you can update various details:

Identity Page

  • Edit name, unit number, and email address.
  • Expiration Date (Optional): Useful for short-term users (e.g., Airbnb guests).
  • Enable or disable PIN usage for the individual.
  • Wiegand Settings: Used only for standalone MyDoorView setups with an external card reader.
    • Can be enabled for a specific user.
    • Schedule access times if needed.
  • Disable/Enable User: Users can be temporarily deactivated and reactivated.
  • Upload a user photo for easier identification.

5. Managing User Access

The Manage User Access tab allows you to:

  • Grant access to multiple entry points by checking the box.
  • If a box is not checked, the user will not appear in the directory or have app access for that entry point.

6. Directory Settings

The Directory Tab allows you to:

  • Enter/Edit the Door PIN.
  • Set floor numbers for elevator controls.
  • Manage Dial-by-Directory Code.
  • Hide/Unhide the user from the directory.

๐Ÿ“Œ Important:

  • Changes must be made per panel.
  • Click "Save Changes" for each entry.

7. Managing User Groups

The Groups Tab displays all Family Groups the user is a member of.

Removing a User from a Group

  • Users can be deleted from the group here.

Adding a User to a Family Group

  1. Navigate to Users > Groups > Family Group.
  2. Find the Family Group Name and click Edit.
  3. Search for the user and click Add.

8. Assigning Credentials

The Credentials Tab allows you to:

  • Assign card or key fob numbers.
  • Register a license plate number (for vehicle gate access using License Plate Recognition (LPR)).
  • Enter multiple credentials if needed.

9. Viewing Call Logs

The Logs Tab displays all calls made to the user. This is useful for tracking call history and access attempts.
